Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Cassia (“the Service”) at trycassia.com, operated by Studenthaus (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

Description of Service

Cassia is a housing search assistant that helps Canadian renters find rental properties. Based on your preferences, we scan publicly available rental listings and send you a daily digest of matches. Cassia is currently free to use.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Canada to use Cassia. By using our Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information in your profile
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Create multiple accounts or provide false information
  • Attempt to access, scrape, or collect data from our Service through automated means
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service to harass landlords or other users
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service

Important disclaimers about the listings we show:

  • Third-Party Content: Listings are sourced from third-party websites. We do not create, verify, or endorse these listings.
  • Accuracy: While we strive to provide accurate information, listing details (price, availability, features) may be outdated or incorrect. Always verify directly with the landlord.
  • No Guarantee: We do not guarantee the availability of any listing or the accuracy of any information provided.
  • Not a Landlord: Cassia is not a landlord, property manager, or real estate agent. We do not own, manage, or represent any properties.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studenthaus and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from reliance on listing information, failure to secure a rental property, or any issues with landlords or properties found through our Service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Intellectual Property

The Cassia name, logo, website design, and original content are the property of Studenthaus and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
